  • Cue Jumps on Screw

    Hi All,

I`ve got a question. I`ve noticed ,after taking a deep screw power shot, my cue would end up on my knuckles of my bridging hand. it happens ocassionally to mid-powered deep screws as well. does this mean I`ve added unintentional side to my shot?

    Thanks guys!

what it does mean is that you have had movement through the hit.
what you should be trying to do always is to keep the cue on the same angle through the entire stroke. try doing this and you will notice a big difference.

Thank for your reply Doctor, bad movement meaning my cue swayed towards the left/right upon delivery? Or jerking the cue giving a bad follow through?

first off, make sure your body isnt moving, in particular your head.

if its not that, then concentrate on your cue arm, following through directly with arm and cue

You could be pushing the butt down as you strike. Make sure its parralel with the bed of the table and that wont happen

Pay attention to where your tip finishes after the stroke. it should be a good 3-4" through the cue ball and it should also be on the cloth or very near it.
