  • Hi new to the forum - curious

    Hi,

I am new to the forum, just decided to take up the game again after 20 years, I played for 10 years from 1981-91,
playing a lot of the clubs and comps around the south east of England, even getting to play on the pro-am circuit
for a short while, unfortunately never got a chance to make a dent on the Satellite rankings, but hey its only a game. lol

I had a cue made for me by Rodney Hynd, an absolute beauty of a cue, and I loved playing with it, unfortunately hard
times took their toll so had to sell the cue (so wished I hadn't), but I have still got the two B&W Burwats, so that is where
I am at the moment, 2 old cues crying out to be used, me wanting to use them, I have a few guys I can knock a few balls
about with, so thats good for a starter back at the game.

The only issue I have is a case for my cues, finding a good two or three cue, single piece case was not easy, any way I have
found a decent looking case on Woodscues, is there anybody on here with any experience of their cases...?

Thanks for taking the time to read this first post and for any help.

    Dave

      welcome to TSF madbox
      are both cues 1pc?

Woods cues themselves (the 3star models specifically) have had good reviews but not heard anything about their cases.
you cant go wrong with the aluminium cases from Cue Craft
here are 1pc case with two slots enough for two cues (or one with extensions)

also B&W Billiards (not Burroughes & Watts) also have a case

my personal is the Cue Craft ali cases, nigh-on bullet-proof and last for donkey's years!

I'd go with the cuecraft or similar with the foam interior as oppose to the padded interior. I find the padded ones can be hit and miss between holding too tight and not holding enough depending on your cue.

Sorry guys, I can't sell or trade them. I would never forgive myself, I made a very big mistake selling the Rodney Hynd cue,
I was given these by my Dad, he used one of them the other was my uncle when he used come and visit every couple of years,
they have got a playing value to me as well as the sentimental value, sorry.....

from cue craft they have the ubiquitous Silver and Black for a bit more.
I have sourced over the recent years several cases for friends/family; the silver is classic; the black is just great; the burgundy is a lovely rich colour; the blue a bit wishy-washy (better if a darker blue). But most are either out of stock or not made any more

                            "the decision is yours!"
