Wondering myself, he used to have a cue like that in the 80's, looks like he's had the joint redone to replicate it.

Hendry’s cue looks like a replica of his old bent connoisseur but it looks a lot more smooth and shiney.

I’m surprised the commentators haven’t mentioned it if it is to do with replicating his previous 80’s cue given the nature of this match It’s little details like this what makes good commentators for me.
