As always i'm astounded how many not even half decent amateurs are competing at Q school, must be a lot of people with disposable income and flexible employment
Yes just goes to show the many levels in this game. You can watch these Q school matches and see a player play very well against another who is slightly lower level than him and think well, he looks a good player then they go on to lose 4-0 in their next match.... So many levels and obviously a fair bit probably mentally.

There are definitely a few "have a go Joe" players there, ticking off a bucket list item too. 😉

Yeah not slating them by any means, just saw there were a couple of players in there I won't name who struggle to get through the early rounds in the comps at our local club lol still like you say it could be a bucket list for some

Anyone see that escape of a snooker by Lewis Ullah over the verge of the black pocket behind the pink trying to hit the blue ? he seemed to sleepwalk into that problem though, could have knocked the blue further away a few shots earlier.

Gutsy win for Dean Young. 4-3 V Florian. Looked like Florian was in tears at the end. Heartbreaking.

I think theres a lot in just throwing matchplay out the window when clearing up to win matches and float them and not trying to punch them in if you miss, i was watching the Boiko match when Young won but thats probably what did it for the Austrian, really should have won 4 - 2.

Four Finals tomorrow. That’s Sunday 26 May 2024. Assume all four winners get a two year tour card.
17 year old Latvian in one of the finals. Might get the match on you tube.

I was watching some of the first round games and wondering if I should get the cue out again , not sure how much it costs to enter Q school but damn these people are wasting their money
It's hard to pot balls with a Chimpanzee tea party going on in your head

A lot of the ineptitude is down to players who live in areas where there aren't any tables similar to the pro game.
I've played in the Q School and have been jaw - droppingly rubbish because the different conditions just knock you out.
Most new players in Britain come from South Wales and the East Midlands where there's better tables, that's reflected in the pro game too re Kyren Wilson and Jak Jones.
Apparently there's a club in Leicester with heated tables, I was thinking about going up there from London just to practice, that's how dire the situation is.
There's a club in Whetstone North London not far from me where Anthony Hamilton practice's but the tables are on top of each other, instantly puts me off, just can't be asked.

Gary Thomson (Scotland) will be livid. Ng On Yee fluked the black to win 4-3.
