He was awful. Hard to believe he won 7 World Titles and dominated the 90’s.

I didn't watch his match or any match of his since he lost to Cahill in the Crucible qualifiers but i'm not sure he's properly adjusted to WST match tables.
If it's difficult for him imagine what it's like for anyone new trying to break onto the tour.

Just dropped in after a nine ball game, still wearing the glove and using a carbon cue.

Elsayed was using a graphite cue as well in his match. Meanwhile Shaun Murphy used one of his new cues of which he's had 3 made up. I thought the grain looked different and he admitted afterwards that it was the first time he'd used it in competitive play.

Personally think it's all a bit of a nonsense. Whenever players are struggling for results and consistency, they always want to blame their tools rather than accept that form comes and goes. Look at Trump, won an event with an awful tip that he needed changing midway through the final, adapted to it and then flew to China and won that as well.
