Great to hear Clive Everton again! Not a phone or camera to be seen in the crowd either. Lovely stuff

Both players are struggling at times however
Ding hasnt played much later and it shows.
Ding also looks in better shape physically
than he has in the past.

Clive's book, Black farce and cueball Wizards, is great reading.

"You couldn't make it up" is one phrase that springs to mind, with regards to some of the goings on.

The chapter "Foulds takes himself to the cleaners" however is head and shoulders above the rest.

Makes me chuckle every time I read it. . .

Ding vs Hawkins at 19:00 should be a good
match to watch. Hawkins can be too much
                    for Ding.

Tomorrow its Selby vs S Davis and
                    Trump vs Maguire.

I have always been a fan of Steve Davis on and off the table, but I would seriously question whether winning the World Seniors (a closed competition for players who are past it, essentially) should merit a place in this tournament. We all know he hasn't got a hope in hell of winning it, and it would be an absolutely massive surprise if he beat Selby. It's basically just a free pass to the second round for the World Champion.

i'd say its a combination of Ding winning 5 ranking events so there are less champions, and him being Barry Hearn's mate, they're really scraping the barrel putting him in this, although i'm quite looking forward to watching him play on tv one last time, could be last time for a lot of us unless its in the seniors.

Ding is soon to be up 3-1 after a nice century
break. It is far from over tho as its best of 11.

Steve Davis has done so much for snooker
however this doesnt seem to fit in my
                          opinion.
