Disappointing semis and final for me, I'm pleased for Shaun and he did play some exceptional snooker throughout the event so hats off and well deserved.
Oh well, Germany next, her damit!

Man that final sucked. If I was there in person I'd probably want my money back. Very disappointed in Neil's performance but you have to hand it to Shaun who was the most consistent player throughout the tournament and certainly the most deserving winner. Wouldn't be surprised if he kicked on from here and became a real contender for the worlds.
Edit: By the way, what was up with Murphy's speech at the end saying something like "I hope I never have to play him again if that's what it takes to beat the world no. 1."? Wake up Shaun you just won 10-2, I know you're supposed to be a nice guy but that was a tad patronising I thought.Last edited by P.Smith; 18 January 2015, 09:58 PM.

JV even called up the new ref up on talking to the crowd as a player was about to make a shot. Yet how many times do they try to get a funny line before a shot, just enjoy the silence a bit more.

Well, that was about as far away from a midnight finish as it gets, a pretty disappointing end to a good week. Robertson probably played his worst-ever match on a big occasion such as this, and Murphy played one of his best, so it's no wonder the score is so one-sided.
Murphy played great all week and is a deserving champion. He did the damage early on today, then just took advantage of Robertson's many mistakes. He left him in the balls quite a few times, but Robertson just couldn't put anything together. Murphy also had a bit of luck when he needed it. It's amazing, if we look back to the very first match of this tournament, Mark Selby had a scoring visit in the decider to take Murphy out. What a different tournament this could have been... But as so often happens, Murphy survived and really raised his game for the rest of the week. Hopefully he can now be a factor in the remaining major events this season as well.
Looking forward to the German Masters.
