That sounds fantastic...a couple of days at the Welsh Open. Great tournament!

I originally started going to Newport because it was so cheap. I could travel up there on coach for 315 return, and stay in a B&B for £40 a night. Had to nip out to the pub for dinner, but got to know where the good pubs are.

In Cardiff, I'm staying in a hotel minutes walk from the Motorpoint. It's more expensive, but I get a hotel bar and restaurant. Hopefully it'll be good.

Yeah, I am. But it falls in the few days where two of my friends have birthdays, which is a bit of an arse being that it's only five days long. Hopefully I'll be able to catch a couple of games on Eurosport.

My next big thing is I got tickets to the Semis and Final of the Welsh Open. (So more fried breakfasts in the hotel... And maybe a visit or two to the hotel bar after matches.)

It was even tougher when I weighed myself this morning. I put on more weight this week than I did over Christmas.

Time to go back to boring food and exercise.

Ronnie back on the Triangle chalk and blaming his tip. Hopefully he will get Les to fit him a nice trimmed down 11mm elk for the worlds and get back in the groove.
Murphy played some great snooker this week and thoroughly deserved his win; shows what a fit girlfriend who says yes to you can do for your confidence, good luck to him :couple_inlove:
I wonder if coach Chris Henry noticed just how much focus the big lad was giving the object ball on the strike this week

I think Murphy deserved to win, he was more consistent over the whole tournament, other than Robertson's Quarter final and Semi final matches he wasn't playing that well.

although he didn't play to that standard , Murphy was on top of his game and at last was able to punish any mistakes and win most frames in one visit rather than the customary breaking down on 40-50 breaks.

if this was Ronnie who won 10-2 everyone would be saying what a genius no one can touch him, another record...blah blah blah.

i think we should give Murphy the credit he deserves, after all he can't do more that pot the balls in front of him, its not his fault if Robertson wasn't playing his best.

The people who know did give Murphy credit and the rest must be sniffing glue or just plain stupid

I can't remember Robertson being out of a game as much since losing to Maguire at the Crucible in 08 and struggling in a match in Germany after losing his passport,goes to show you how consistent he's been in the last 6 years I guess.
