I thought he was just gutted that Hazel spoiled the footie results. Anyhoo. Was a great tournament overall. Hopefully Ding will win next year. Night all.

Indeed...and imo it's even worse than that...if you can only focus on your severe hatred for a player/person, and this then completely overrules even the match and battle you are watching, then you are the real loser in my book. This goes for all the selby haters in here...sour grapes as always

Under normal circumstances I would love to see Mark Selby winning, but I really had hoped this was going to be Dings year. Anyway congratulations to Selby.

You know how ridiculous that sounds? Over a 35 frame match it is just a petty excuse.

Selby has won 3 Masters and 2 Worlds..... he must of been jammy to win all of them!

I can appreciate that, but for someone who has just won the world championship he looked rather unhappy.

He gave Hazel a deathly stare and looked horrifed when his family came over for photos. Not the behaviour of of someone who has just become world champion and had a very nice payday in to the bargain. Very odd.

Anyway, well played mark. Disappointed for ding but he had a great run this year and went some way to amending his mediocre crucible record. Hopefully he takes confidence from this and goes on to win within the next few years.

Great match! Very entertaining all around, and well done to both Selby and Ding for the great snooker!

Selby has won 2 or 3(can't remember) and 1, looking like two, world championships yet people think he is just lucky!

By the way the game is called snooker... clue is in the title... it's not all about pretty flowing balls going into pockets, it is a game largely based around tactical safety and... snookers.
Couldn't agree more with this sentiment. Perhaps TSF should arrange a sub-forum for the Selby whiners, as their message becomes very predictable and tiresome after a while IMHO.

He may be dull if you're watching snooker just for balls going in pockets but there is A LOT more to the game then that and always will be. You shouldn't even watch snooker if you can't appreciate how Selby utilises his own game to beat two of the greatest break builders the game has seen in O'Sullivan and Ding.
