Well, the quarter-final which looked the most interesting to me is turning out to be totally one-sided affair. Ding leads 9:2 against Williams. Very disappointing.
Yep. I've been a huge Williams fan for years.... totally gutted at his performance today, clearly the tip is having a huge impact because every time he plays a shot with side he is way off target. Although Ken Doherty was right - why doesn't Mark have spare 'broken in' tips with him? Quite unprofessional when you think about it really. It is like a tennis player going on court with only one racket.
Anyway, what is worse is that Ding is not only playing incredible but he is getting all the nice nudges and runs of the ball as well. This match is basically over, it is just a case of if Williams can get any respectability in the score (I doubt it, I reckon 13-3 for Ding).
Well, there are a few people on here, including me, who like Selby. Though it's the minority. But I really enjoy his tactical cleverness and he is a brilliant break-builder as well. Apart from Higgins I think Selby is the most complete player and probably the best player of his generation (meaning the one after Higgins, Ronnie, etc.)
Of course I don't know him personally, but he also strikes me as a nice guy.
Hopefully he doesn't let Wilson back into this game now.
I think he's more popular than it would appear on here, people (including me) tend to be more vocal when they've got an axe to grind so the negativity stands out. I've always found him a very entertaining and interesting player to watch, a great break-builder who can fight as dirty as the next man, what's not to like. (That was a rhetorical question peeps:wink
He'll have to be on his metal here though, this youngster seems to have no fear at all. :tiger:

Wow, Selby is some player. I know nobody really likes him here but he has got The Game. I didn't used to like him, but have cut him some slack when I read about his upbringing etc. I've actually warmed to him - he plays for himself and his family and doesn't really care what other people think, which is fair enough. BUT... you never know, he does seem to have something going on behind the scenes so if Kyren manages to start chipping away then who knows what could happen.

From heaven to hell......Poor Bazza has been slaughtered this afternoon. Shame really after his great display last night. Now he has a mountain to climb to keep his hopes alive.
I think last night's excitement has caught up with him. The schedule has to be looked at for this tournament.
I've seen it so many times in single-player sports, where an unfancied player performs out of their skin, upsets a big favourite, and then has nothing in the tank for the next round. Happens in tennis all the time (Rosol beating Nadal at Wimbledon comes to mind).
VeselĂ˝ beating Djokovic a few weeks ago, then went on to lose 2:6 1:6 or something like this .... yeah, Czech tennis players
Btw. Barry in big troubles, thats for sure.
The second match was full of mistakes from both players, it seems Higgins will steamroll McManus now.
