  • Grand Prix 2007

The Grand Prix is now out on its own as the third most important tournament in the season as the winner will now recieve 6250 points instead of the 5000 Robertson gained last year. It means the points for the whole tournament have gone up 25% over last year.

I think that's always been higher than the other "minor" events. £60,000 again i bet.

obviously there has been a big reduction of prize money over the years but by and large winners cheques have remained decent-where i have noticed it is in the lesser ranking events such as the overseas ones where last 16 and quarter finalists can get as little as £3000-£4000

so any pro having a season of last 16-last 8 finishes could end up with only abaout £40000 not much for a top 16 player

At least the round robin matches are the best of seven this time so I think the tournament may be a little more popular this time round.
