It seems that, since the Australian ranking event was announced, the World Open has disappeared from the provisional calendar on the World Snooker website??? Pity.... the format worked well, but I guess the BBC dropping its coverage spelt the end.

However there does appear to be two spare spots for ranking events, one in November and the other April, so all may not be lost.

i think its clear they want to keep their options open when someone will be able to stage the tournament.October or April
