  • First POT BLACK 100 break

I thought TSF peeps would like to see highlights of the first 100 break in POT BLACK (1973) made by Eddie Charlton.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXcSBtrTlNE

    Enjoy . . .

    : )
My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins.
    I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)

Yeah, I've never understood why he so casually played for the pink on 89. He had taken 11 reds and 11 blacks, the frame was practically over, but he still didn't go for what would have been the first televised maximum at the time.

Me too. I am suprised that the commentators didn't even mention it. Maybe they didn't think a maximum was possible?

Iv never see a young Eddie play so it was good to watch.. With the cutting of the video, listening to Charlton's talk over and me focused on his technique I didn't notice the max to, but after missing with the rest I thought 'oh there was a nice break on there 145'.

141 is a nice number and good break but my favorite number is 144
I think he was so consumed with the tone that he didn't notice the max, he probably realized it when he was taking out the rest
