Russian (or not) Magic chalk

There's been a lot said about Russian magic chalk. I've been a fan now for a while so when a reputable online store had an xmas offer i got some to top up my store.

On receipt the chalk packaging looks very similar although the word "Russian" and the flag has been dropped. It now says made in Mexico on the box.

Have they just out sourced the manufacturing to avoid sanctions or is this an entirely different product? Does anyone know or has noticed the difference.

I haven't tried the new stuff yet and I have a couple of old blocks left.

I don't know about "Russian" chalk. Before I left China some of my students wanted to get me a useful snooker based gift. They got me 144 chalks in a box. I am 67 now and have yet to open the box. I suppose my executor will deal with it IDC.
