So I've just got back into playing snooker, probably 6 months or so now. I've been a way for a few years. Just wondering what if any are new practice routines that you guys do. I always start with the line up. Maybe half hour or so. Then I tend to go to a scenario where there are 6 or seven lose reds, one above the blue for security. Then a cluster beneath the pack. I then try pick them of and split the pack at some point. After that a few long pots and I love playing cannons in and around the pink and black to help with break building. I've seen players of different standards using a variation of a line up, but have never tried this myself.

Line up all the reds baulk side of the blue spot, a harder break with yellow and green in the way of many of them and play to not disturb any ball as that teaches you better cue ball control and also forces you to take on difficult pots and positional shots.
Of course this an unnnatural table layout but the benefit will come to you when you've been having a safety battle from behind the black spot and many reds have been sent into baulk.Speak up, you've got to speak up against the madness, you've got speak your mind if you dare
but don't try to get yourself elected, for if you do you'll have to cut your hair

I generally start by just throwing all the balls around the table and potting as many balls as possible, no order but I do try to think about position on the next ball + a couple of shots in advance.
I find that starting this way gets my cue action in sync.
After I’ve potted all the ball’s then I do the conventional line up….
I do this as I feel doing the line up “cold” often resulted in missing a simple shot 2 or 3 shots into the line up
