The number assignment is all over the place... numbers assigned at top level has been sold to ISPs overseas. For example the IP range of my ISP in Australia has sections of its number range used by ISPs in China and Taiwan.

This happens a lot and an otherwise neat assignment solution has been shot to pieces, probably for reasons that we shouldn't go into here

Just so everyone knows, the wsebsite - lovesnooker.ca - HAS NOT BEEN LAUNCHED YET AND IS STILL IN BETA TESTING.

He plans to launch the site officially at the start of the World Championships and he will load up all the WPBSA videos he can into the library after that, although as a Canadian site he will be concentrating on any televised matches with Canadian professionals playing.

He also mentioned in his phone call he was still hoping to get more sponsorship and I don't know if he was successful with that as yet.

          Leonard:

I think you must have misunderstood my posting from awhile ago.

I was NEVER a professional when I was playing in Britain as I failed to qualify (came close one year). At that time they had the pro ranks closed down and the WPBSA held a series of 3 or 4 tournaments (something like PIOS) and the top 8 ranked players from that season had to play the bottom 8 ranked professionals to get their pro tour ticket.

I came to within one match of qualifying in 1987 I think it was but I lost in the 1/4-finals to Steve Meakin, who did qualify that year.

So you wouldn't be seeing me on any BBC video unless they happened to tape and exhibition I might have been in with Cliff or someone else, but I don't remember any TV cameras.

I did win a few pro-ams over the 3-1/2 years I was there. And by the way, my 147's were in practice with one of them being against a professional by the name of Mick Price who is famous for being Ronnie's opponent on TV for that 5-minute 147 Ronnie did

Hi Terry all i am saying you are still competing with the best players in Canada with the likes of Cliff Thorburn Kirk Stevens Alain Robidoux Bob Chaperon Floyd Zeigler Fern Loyer Tom Finstad and the rest of the good players. At least you are not afraid to show up with these
            Ex Professionsl Snooker Players.

I would like to see someone in Canada or in England such as Barry Hearn to Promote Snooker Tournaments in Canada

That would be great for Snooker In Canada cheers Leonard

Works well with VLC media player. Start VLC, hit ctrl+shift+o, go to the network tab and copy and paste the url above then hit the play button and it should play. It defaults to 4:3 ratio so you need to hit the video tab then go to aspect ratio and choose 16:9.

                      cross-border cloaking

                      Read this article http://www.thestar.com/article/583846
Just download one program to your computer and before you can say "cross-border cloaking," Hulu can't tell who-loo they're dealing with, or what country you're from, letting you sneak into their store

Just another example of someone's good work/investment/intention being exploited/undermined by idiots for idiots.

He says he has it all on automatic but there would be a 3-hour delay from the live matches which almost works out to Canadian's favour as we are 4, 5 (or more for Vancouverites) hours behind the UK

I'm surprised it can be accessed from outside Canada as he only has the license for North America (or so he tells me). He runs a media company and will be prociding this service for free and there will be a library of every match in the BBC's archives eventually and of course this will also mean you can watch all the latest matches whenever you want.

Well this website is great news. If this works as well as it seems it will, this gentleman will have done more to promote snooker in north america than pretty much anyone in the last 20 years.

I hate to see the game dying in Canada. Where I live there used to 6 pool tables and 200 snooker tables, now the situation is reversed.

If you want to watch live snooker from the BBC web site (www.bbc.co.uk/snooker), go to hideipvpn.com and reg for an account for $5 per month which gives you a very stable and excellent UK IP address. I watch live snooker from there.

If you want to record it, get streamtransport

If you want torrents, go to uknova, or thebox. I have an a/c on thebox and donated as well. It's a great site as long as cappers (in uk I presume) are recording the matches.

I have collected over 1000 hours over the past 5 years from thebox myself

P.S. I'm Canadian and we will beat you in icehockey
