High humidity, especially with a thick cloth, will effect the speed of the table and you might also find you get more kicks as dirt and chalk will stick more readily to the balls.
As I have my own table in my basement and during the summer it gets quite humid down here I bought a little dehumidifier which keeps the humidity down around 45% or a bit lower and my table has stayed very fast (#10 cloth) and I do brush and block it regularly but I don't have to iron it too often.

It will not only affect your game but will also damage your cloth if made of wool. This shrinks when damp/wet and when warms back up again will be a loose fit on the table, which will then require stretching to make a good fit again. All amterials are affected by hot and cold conditions due to expansion and contraction, including hard wood and slate, so you ought to keep your table at a fairly constant temperature with normal humidity, (no more than 50% on a meter).
