The tour is open to anyone that can qualify...regardless of sex...not many women get very far however...I can only recall one woman ever on the top 96..and she was quite aways down...the ladies seem to go on to 8-ball or something like that in the States instead...more money in it I guess...

You all could take that more serious. I think there should be more women in the Snooker sport and I think they should not play in their own league, no they should play against the men as well. Snooker is not like football, where you share one dressing room and the showers. No they don't. Why it is acctually so that in sports like tennis, darts, swimming etc. the all divided in men and women and they never play against each other.
I would like to see more women in snooker. Not because of the bums and humps, no because of the way the play, like the men. I'm a woman and don't watch Snooker because of the men are playing.

There are a few women who are trying to compete with the men.

Suzanne Opacic plays against the men in her area but not nationally.

10 year old Hannah Jones is the only active female who plays on the EASB junior tour and played in this years English Amateur - losing to Kyren Wilson 4-1. She is going to be at Pontins for the Junior festival and is, I believe, the only female player.

June Banks plays in her leagues where she lives. Some of the men there think she is a professional and are trying to get her banned from playing!

Reanne Evans is registered with the EASB plays in her local Pro-Ams and also competes on the PIOS, although hasn't had a success yet.

I don't know of any others to play with the men.

I know Lynette Horsburgh a bit!
She was ranked as No1 but the ladies tour has been struggling and most of the players are moving to pool!
Well the Fishers, Karen Corr etc. are already in the states and I think Lynette is playing more pool now. Certaly her boyfriend is a top UK 9 ball player!

I would like to have seen Lynette play, her snooker ability is very highly thought of in the womens game.

I've never seen her play snooker only uk 8ball!
Obviously she's good at that. I've never played her myself but there's a comp I go to in Blackpool and she always enters the open as well as the ladies so good chance it could happen.
I spoke to her for ages in November, her friend was playing my friend; She's really nice!

There is a snooker 'Masters' event for the ladies which will be run in confunction with the 2007-08 UK Championships - September 07. I think there are going to be wildcards to the event and it would be nice to see Lynette play again.
