Ronnie's level dropped because Carter didn't play his best. Ronnie would have stepped up a few gears if he needed to. The result was predictable after the first session
I agree that this is the worst standard. I am sure Jimmy White is watching and wondering why he couldn't have played one of these players in the final. The only person producing any kind of standard out there is Jan Verhaas racking the balls up!
The Dutch man mountain was lucky to get the final. He has a back injury and the last thing you need is a 7 hour match before surgery. Machaela Tabb would have livened things up
You've got to just call a spade a spade, Ali is in his first ranking final and playing the world number 1, he was always going to struggle a great deal. He's done amazing well to get this far so well done to him, he's got quite a pay day!
I heard that he has earned about 420,000 pounds in his 11 years as a pro (only prize money, not incl. advertisement etc.) and I guess that 203,500 pound just for this tournament is something that can help him recover from the final much quicker

I couldn't agree more, Ronnie did enough to win and that's all that was needed.
Anyway, 3 World titles now, distinguishing O'Sullivan from Higgins and Williams and confirming his place as one of the greatest players ever - as if it was in doubt. I think he had the ability to have equalled or bettered Hendry's World Championship record but it's not likely now.
Still, 4 or 5 is not improbable.
The result was never really in doubt but it's still good to see O'Sullivan achieve what he's capable of.:snooker:
Well we can pretend he won it in 2005 and 2006 too since he would have won easily if he had focused so that takes him to five. He just needs a couple more now to equal Hendry.
Yes it was worst final in last few years, maybe even ever.
Ebbo-Dotty was also poor, but more tensed and quite close,so better than this one.
Both struggling,specially Carter played rubbish!
I think he is not strong enough mentally to win anything important.

"Am too good not to win this tournament" - Stephen Hendry

yes, he should start winning at some minor tournaments, not the WC. That was probably all a little too much for him to handle, but he achieved a lot this season. I´m sure he gets over it soon. he knew he had no chance against Ronnie, and if he believed he would he was probably the only one (even I didn´t really believe in it)

What rubbish! Dott beat him fair and square in 2006 and Murphy probably would have beaten him in 2005.

So then we have to pretend he won it in 1997 too, which brings him back to 8. Also that Jimmy comment is invalid as he could never beat Hendry on his day.
This final was the worst ever. The so called 'genius' with a mere 106 top break on these easy tables. 'Rigsby' will never win again. At least he now has the summer to get a nose job! As for that rubbish about him maybe not playing next season it is just more attention seeking.

mate What exactly have you got against Ronnie????????
its getting a bit sickening now the constant Ronnie Bashing......what has he done to you?????
Okay Wild. Maybe I can go over the top but it is harmless fun. It is just a way of getting back at his fans. I just think he should be banned the way they banned Higgins years ago. Double standards. He isn't a nice person and just because he can hit balls with a stick very well shouldn't mean he should be supported in my view. Anyway there is a big world out there and snooker is an extremely small part of it, (almost non existent infact).
Peace brother.
One thing is for sure, you are snooker's number 1 fan.
