Its a good choice. Pukka Pies didn't seem a sensible ad partnership, this does.

but i've definitely heard of all those websites before.. unlike pukka pies, but it didnt prevent them from sponsoring the uk. so your point is still unclear.

At least we have them here in Turkey..

But we don't have Totesport, Betfred, or any other betting thing..

Forget it, it was a point from my side, not global..

              Barry Hearn - you're a genius!

I'm so happy that things are finally starting to look up for snooker at last and that Barry has started so well!

Why do we need just one main sponsor per tournament?
Why not do like they do in football etc. have advertsing around the table (that seperate the spectators from the match) with actual snooker related advertising on them? For instance you could split it into say 8 sections, all would be picked up by the TV cameras during every match, Talisman Tips, Acuerate cues, etc.
Actual snooker related sponsoring would be nice, and a little extra income to just having one main sponsor. The event could still have one main sponsor that goes on all the merchandise etc. but around the TV tables you could have multiple companies.

Like here in the background where there is just one sponsor

Yes, I don't see the problem. Theres an obvious synergy between snooker and betting sites as a lot of snooker fans do like a bit of a punt! I think we were all expecting great things from Barry and he certainly isn't letting us (and more importantly the players) down.

May be they can also consider having one title sponsor and then a few other sponsors on the side? Betting sites and Pukka pies are fine. I have never heard of them in Canada and now I have. I am sure a lot of people are feeling the same way outside of the UK.
The problem with Pukka Pie is that although now I want to try one, I dont know where to get it. (I dont think there is any outlet in Canada) Although they have increased their exposure worldwide through their sponsorship, they cannot gain revenue from countries that do not sell their products. On the other hand, I am not sure if I can place a bet in Canada thought this new sponsor which is a betting site, but I would imagine they can gain much more revenue with lots more people visiting their site worldwide.

But you have internet, you can do a bit of betting there (more excitement watching games)...

Also it's one point if some company starts to sponsor some event or player or whatever that they can make their brand/product/name/services known more widely.

The only thing that can get me onto these betting sites is snooker... I mean, I go to those that stream snooker live there. So maybe they can somehow get snooker tournaments streamed online too? And qualifiers too, please!
