  • If anyone is interested in the SightRight system, this ad for one of their cues shows very clearly the fitting.
    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/134416888...&segname=11021

Just to be clear I am not the seller or have any link to the seller or SightRight - just know that in the past some people have queried what "the fuss" is all about

That's similar to the mini aiming aid he gives for the ones who take coaching from him.

      • Came across this SEAN PARKER cue on eBay, I remember years back now he used to customise cues and make some of his own. Originally used a badge with SAP , his initials I believe, so interesting that the seller uses the name SAP in his seller profile. The listing doesn't say made by me so just wondering if he is making the odd cue or badging up imports!?! Nice looking cue either way.

        • Came across this and felt stunned at the quality. It's the second cue I've seen for sale made by this guy, his first went for £150 but wasn't my spec. His name is Steve Jones and he's a highly skilled engineer by trade and made the H&O style brass joint himself.

I had a bid on this one but missed out. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Handmade-...rdt=true&rt=nc

          • Hi all
seen this JPU on ebay, not talking about the price
Just wondering what the woods are: front spice and the splices underneath - there does appear to be two different woods used.
My mind has gone blank (age-onset moments!)
            cheers

Might be Olive, Zebrano or tamarind wood with veneers and ebony beneath.

which is the front splice(on blue veneer) and which is the splicing under that(on blue veneer), on top of the ebony?

Front splice - I though olivewood but it looks more like a marble-something or other
Bottom splice - has the look of karelian (masur) birch but not sure

The top most splice on which the badge is placed looks like tamarind or Olive and the one between that and the ebony looks like zebrano. I am not 100% sure.

                  • These cues are amazing but I'm struggling to understand where the price point has come from!? Just seems nuts that Ton used to work at Maximus went out on his own and in a short space of time, relatively to other well known cue makers, his cues reach these figures. Seems a middle of the road one is over £500 now!!

Of course there was an uplift after Ryan Day got one and mentioned it at the Welsh Open (famously went to his match after only 10mins playing with it after being rush couriered from Stu Green).
This specific cue - price is stupid and I doubt it will sell for anything like that in the end.
If someone does buy it at that (or for that matter any cue) they need their head examined!

Thanks Dean , I knew a few pros had tried/used Ton's cues but it still shocks me the fame he has gained. Must be a very good self publicist! Especially when you consider players like Un-Nooh who uses a Niche cue I believe, most people I know have never heard of them and they're great cues too.

                        • Thought for a minute the cue in the middle of this bunch of firewood may make it worth a punt, but this lot is relisted after finishing at £329! I think the bidder realised it's not quite what it seems. The H&O just doesn't look right to me.

That H&O look likes like an authentic badge dug out of its original cue with a spoon and badly glued into another.

That cue looks like it has a bit of age to it. Is it right? Who the hell knows nowdays.
Are they pool specs, tips look small in the pictures.
This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

That's the trouble, with so many fakes made. I think the seller is being clever and making out like he's an idiot that's selling a hidden gem, the "sold as seen" says a lot and so does the relisting.

The Hunt on the badge doesn't seem to have the right arc/bend to it and the bottom of the butt looks too straight lined, should have some curve. The brass joint doesn't seem right either. Funny thing is it looks like a half decent old cue, nice antique ash colour but the grain disappears at the tip end! Might have been a fun project to clean up and sell on but most likely not a H&O imo.
