i was suspicious of photobucket when all these odd adds started popping up months back, anyway i got a feeling its gonna be the norm at some point.
I think you might be right on that one..
Well be taking my pics off photobucket and closing the account.
We have discussed this change by photobucket elsewhere and I also have been looking around and have a couple that I am investigating
I also will be removing images and then delete the account on photobucket.
Anyone with personal knowledge of other image library sites please let TSF members know.

It might be time for your first website 'J.'

You could then share pics from the website here and they would always be yours.

Just a thought as I know it would always be easier to find a photobucket equivalent.

Jeez that's a shocker, I wondered what happened to the photos further up as I was scrolling down, I take it they have blocked them. They are going to see one hell of a drop off to their site.

the taper does play a part but generally if the wood is stiff it will remain that way. ime

    hi
you mentioned stiff response, normal response. ive played snooker at a good level for 35 years and I didn't realise these considerations for snooker cues. Is the type of wood used relevant to the cue response, thickness of the shaft or both.
    regards

I do, makes sense to get it to that stage.
Then only got to worry about the butt.

three prep stages of some old English ash.

then these are the ones selected for a requested stiff response cue- x2 egl/vintage and the one on the right is eastern European ash.

unless your doing joints i think a lathe has ts limitations. and cus i chose to go the handmade route meaning leaning how to make cues just using my hands eye to the best of my ability. im now after serving my apprenticeship not far off dong things as fast and as accurate.
faster better stronger but still learning..

    all about the wood
Sounds like you're really starting to get in tune with the old timber.

I like the straight grain in the top picture 2nd from the left, looks spot on!
