Hmm yeah I think I needed a change from the cue I used to use, this new Wooldridge with a massive 10mm tip seems to suit me.
Ohh and possibly just one more cue to come but might even turn it down, did I just say that ha ha ha

If it suits why change, I've done the same thing increased in tip size to 9.75 and it's helped me for the better, yes you did say that please lie down you must be unwell lol.

            • How do you add a picture of a cue? I got a new cue, as I lost/had my old cue stolen.

you can use (unregistered) image-sharing sites such as tinypic or ImgBB
                open Tinypic
                Browse for your file
                ensure Image is selected
                click Upload Now
as being unregistered you may have to pass a verification stage, deal with appropriately
click the box for "IMG code for Forums & Message Boards", it should select the whole code, Ctrl+c (for copy)
go to your TSF post, Ctrl+v (for paste)

                or open ImgBB
                press Start Uploading
                browse to file, click Upload
change the Embed codes to BBCode full linked
select all the code displayed and ctrl+c or press the little Copy button that appears
go to TSF post, ctrl+v (for paste)

do any other files the same as above
                Up the TSF! :snooker:

                    • I'm now reading up on Siamese rosewood and am feeling a bit bad! It seems like its an endangered species.

Don't feel bad. That bit of wood was already dead when you put your order in. Wouldn't make sense to just throw it all in a skip. .

True, yh, I guess Ton Praram are aware of the situation. Maybe it's just old stock they had lying around from before the wood became endangered. Interestingly, ebony is also an endangered species, a lot of woods are, including cocobolo.

                          • I believe all rosewood species have a strict ban on them now so class it as rare 😁. I've just ordered a 7, colour rosewood 4 splice from ton who says it's his last stock. Will post when I receive for sure. Nice cue and great shaft...you paid for a pro shaft I take it...some of his 'pro' shafts are questionable.

Illegal logging is rampant in the far east, these woods are banned for a reason, unless a maker can prove their stock comes from an FSC or PEFC registered supplier then don't buy their products. The customer must take responsibility as the loggers don't give a sh!t and these Thai cuemakers seem to have a ready supply of these rare woods and their prices start low but get a lot higher once they know the score.

Anyone who's seen the plight of the orang utans in Borneo and Sumatra should think very hard before ordering cues from a maker who doesn't use wood from FCS or PEFC sources. The forests are being cleared for palm oil plantations at the rate of a football pitch every hour and the trees that are felled aren't sold for firewood.
