  • What sort of table cover is this?

I saw them at the PTC5 recently, is it something special to remove humidity?

You mean those covers rolled up under the tables? They look a bit like the covers I saw in Glocester at the academy. Those were big thick covers filled with silica gel type stuff, to absorb moisture I believe.

I suspect they are custom made .. I did some googling for table cover dessicant and silica gel in various combinations but didn't find anything. Edit: Best I could find were these:

Would be very easy to make for anybody with an industrial sewing machine.

they are the new kind of table covers that come with star tables, the material is something like thick artificial leather, quite heavy for a table cover.

I believe thay are supplied with the Star tables or at least they had the Star logo on the ones at the SouthWest academy. Perhaps Janie could confirm for us?

Confirms then that here in the Uk they are only available through World Snooker Services as they have the star rights to import in the Uk and are Stars main selling agent .

However, here is there site for info, not phoned them yet to see if you can order direct.

I did not know that , I thought every thing star has to go through WSS , unless they only have ENGLISH rights to Star ?

£7700 is that fully installed inc vat ?

Believe it or not I have yet to work on one .

I too was surprised. My mate has worked on them and does not rate them for quality and whether they will last. He used to fit the tables at the Crucible.
