Koldogger, how about teaching them Golf on the snooker table? Playing Cowboy on a snooker table could also be a lot of fun, and you could set the upper point limit to whatever you'd like.

Another option is to make up your own games: fun is the key. A child who enjoys playing some kind of game on a pool or snooker table may get more serious about playing in later years and then want to learn more.
