Judd looks solid, Luca's impatience, manna from heaven for him. Ronnie seems to be doing, OK, for him.

Glad Chris was able to pinch the last frame with some well executed match craft, 7 - 1 seems a bridge too far. Great the way Mark responded to John's challenge in frame 7, "OK, if you think you can pot that and make something of it, good luck" So he did, and did. It was a cracking opener to be fair.

You're right, Michael White was an amateur at the Crucible in 2022; only L32 round though.

So Zhao Xintong, is the third and the furthest ever

Whilst on the subject, I know Darren Morgan reached the semis of a ranking event whilst an amateur a few years ago, does anyone know if that can be beat? (A shame Statman is around any more!)

Is this the furthest into the event any amateur has got?

Edit: Yes this is the furthest and only the second time an amateur got to the Crucible stage of the event; first and only other time was James Cahill in 2019, he got to the L16 round.

Great reception for the players this morning, I usually give this part a miss but knew it would be good today with Higgins & Williams coming out to play each other.

really ramped up the atmosphere nicely. 👏

For his talent he’s a massive underachiever so I beg to differ

Ok fair enough, i'm completely disattached from terrestrial tv and whatever Parrott would think anyway.

I think it was player power, Shaun Murphy ? amongst others that got it changed.

There were three days of qualifying to whittle down the lower 96 to 32 progressing to the televised stage, those three days of qualifying would have started at 10 a.m. but the main televised stage, the last 64 i think started at 1 p.m.

Not match fixing in the modern sense so I think you're reading too much in to it.
