Might cost a bit more but what the hell.
From what he said to Hazel after the final, it sounds like he's decided not to go ahead with the lens replacement. I used to use daily disposable contacts, they were great, but I can't see well enough to put them in anymore, which is a very annoying irony.

Whenever i wear lenses i use a little hand mirror to aid getting them in and out, makes the process a formality.

Wouldn't work for me mate, they're completely invisible to me. I used them for decades, so was quite adept at putting them in, but in the end my eyes just got so bad I couldn't see what I was doing and kept loosing them, cost me a bloody fortune.

Ok, sounds like you've got some kind of eye condition then ?

Wouldn't know the foggiest about that, touchwood.

My brother in law had eye laser surgery in the late 80s and has never looked back, i'll always naturally be close to a computer/tablet/android screen of some sort so i'm not that bothered about good unaided sight as long as glasses and lenses still work.

Quite a collection actually, Amblyopia and Retinopathy of prematurity (RoP), nystagmus and congenital cataracts. I've won a lot more games of pool than I've lost all the same. Snooker table is simply too big for me though.

Ah, don't worry about it mate, worse things happen at sea.

How bad is your Amblyopic eye? With glasses mine was about 20/130. Without glasses I’m guessing about 20/150. When I was trying the contacts out I only put one in my good eye.

Both eyes since birth. But I had a dozen or so operations on my right eye when I was a child to needle the cataract, considered quite barbaric nowadays, but it helped.
This is my latest eye test from a few years ago:

Honestly, it's crazy that I can play at all, but if there's decent lighting, I do OK.

                      • Cheers Nifty. It may seem bad to you, but It's been this way all my life, so it's just normal to me, very inconvenient, but no biggie.
