Don't see why not. I think the rule states that if you can't hit a red in a direct line after your opponent fouls, it's a free ball. I don't think it specifies being blocked by a ball, but I could be wrong.

Dennis Taylor just said that Ding nearly left a free ball by leaving Selby angled by a foul - that's not right, is it?

When will commentators learn to shut the *bleep* up when it comes to calling frames as 'safe'. If they'd kept their traps shut we'd be ten minutes into the next frame by now.
