The winner doesn't get automatic qualification - he would still have to qualify! I imagine he would go up from 29 to top 16 if he did win however.

    He's always done that.

Incredible story with Alan. Fantastic to see him in the semifinals after 23 years. Never would have thought that, but I'm really happy for him.

I'm taunted to say that on paper it looks now very much like a Ding - Selby final. But with McManus beating Higgins - who would have thought this, I don't think even Alan himself - it just simply shows us that nearly everything is possible.

Super solid match player in his day see was McManus, had to peel him off the table.

I'm not surprised him beating Higgins, they know each other's game so well.

I love seeing McManus's little habits, talking to himself, headshakes and nods etc, gonna give it a try myself lol.

Yeah, I'm hoping for a McManus fairytale now, but even Ding winning it would be a little interesting, whereas Selby has looked utterly miserable throughout the tournament and not played terribly pretty stuff as always.

I'd love to see McManus win it..

Note.. All the one trick ponies are out, solid match players from past and present are still in...

You need a solid match game not just be able to pot them off the lampshade see... Ahem, Judd.. Lol
