8 - 6 to Selby now. A spirited fight back from Kyren Wilson. For Williams the only thing left is avoiding to be beaten in two sessions.

Why did Selby go for the difficult red ? Wilson was already needing snookers, so why free that ball.

I doubt it. I rather think he found his groove early on (he also started the Trump-match good) and as he saw that Williams didn't show any resistance Ding got fully relaxed and could play easily.

Yes that's true enough, but as someone else on here said, I think Ding is still harbouring a demon or two when it comes to Ronnie and I'd be surprised if his departure hasn't given him a bit of a lift.

Really depressing to see what happens to Mark J. While Ding has clearly upped his game compared to the 2nd round. 10:2 now.

Yeah absolutely Ding is playing much better, especially since the start of the second session. But isn't just Ding though... Mark played well enough to compete with anyone in this 1st round and for 2/3 of his second round but in this match he is just total ****e. If he were a younger inexperienced player you might say he has bottled it. It will be interesting to see how he explains this performance after the match.

Yep. I've been a huge Williams fan for years.... totally gutted at his performance today, clearly the tip is having a huge impact because every time he plays a shot with side he is way off target. Although Ken Doherty was right - why doesn't Mark have spare 'broken in' tips with him? Quite unprofessional when you think about it really. It is like a tennis player going on court with only one racket.

Anyway, what is worse is that Ding is not only playing incredible but he is getting all the nice nudges and runs of the ball as well. This match is basically over, it is just a case of if Williams can get any respectability in the score (I doubt it, I reckon 13-3 for Ding).

I'd love a second edition of the 2007 final. Only option I'd prefer would be a final between Ding and Selby.
