Hasn’t Ding’s record at the qualifying stages been pretty bad (certainly compared to other top players), though?

Thanks. For some reason I always think that when the black stays down the 7 points for potting it stay on the board even if you scratch.

Looks like both White and Doherty might make the second round. Doherty's season thus far has definitely justified the wild card he was given. He's actually 39th on the season list. A couple of wins in this tournament and he'll crack the top 32 and have a decent chance to get a Grand Prix spot.

Must have played well to do Carter by that score! Was he good to watch?

I bet Carters face looked like he was licking pi55 off a stinging nettle. : )

So far the 40+ players are 11-7, with McManus on the brink, O'Brien to finish trailing 3-4 and O'Sullivan, Greene, Burden, Milkins and Stevens playing tonight. So that's 25 out of 128 players over the age of 40 (20% of the field) and, if McManus gets over the line, they are winning at a 63% clip. Plus they are favourites in 4 out of 5 matches tonight.

12-7. Very impressive by the "old" guys.

Dunham is now 0-11 in matches played this year and 8-51 in frames won. I'd imagine there are dozens of British club players that are better than him. Scott Donaldson had been 0-10 in matches this year before his win yesterday. At least he's been more competitive, losing several deciders. Sanderson Lam is 1-11 plus a walkover win. Also a few deciders lost. Christopher Keogan has lost 11 matches in a row after winning his first match of the year. Life at the other end of the professional snooker spectrum. It must be depressing to lose match after match.

Anyone know why Rhys Clark pulled out he tournament who Ronnie was originally scheduled to play and was replaced by Jackson Page.
Ronnie O' Sullivan seven times the record breaking Snooker Master
