Less emotional, maybe. Didn't seem Lee made him worry much.
And had interesting smiley when he was leaving the table for Lee to start breaks..

But I'd say he was not risking that much.
At least compared to Lee - show him red color and he will attacking it like a bull in 90% of the cases missing it and leaving open table for Maguire, ehrm - Maguire seemed very sensible in that match in choosing when to attack and when to pay safe (meaning: play safe, if you can try to leave a difficult pot to Lee, he will miss, table is yours; and if he won't miss, he'll do the hard job of splitting the balls nicely, and then at some point anyone can go out of position... safety... continue with the same scheme).

If not for Lee's sorry to say quite brainless attacking of everything, match seemed much more even than the score shows
Shoudn't he have learned that after a few frames went that way.

After 1st session of Ebdon-Dott & Lee-Maguire matches it seemed Maguire will be Dott's meal. Not so sure anymore, Maguire was sensible, and finishing off the frame pretty much everytime when in the balls... It depends now on how many chances will Dott give him. Surely not as many as Lee. But Maguire will probably raise his game compared to R1 match too.

Lets wait for his match with Dott. I think he really must do something with his emotions cos he would have won a lot more, maybe a WC

It's all the more astonishing that Stephen Lee said that because he has already played in Germany (PHC 2006) and should know better...

But then perhaps there were too many men there, and they were cheering for the wrong player...

Didn't see much of that match. So I can't comment on the way that he played. Anyways, Lee's post-match interview makes me wonder his attitude. His complaining about lack of tournaments and match play but then he says

I like the idea of what Barry Hearn is proposing but I don't want to be playing in little tournaments, for example in Germany,and play in front of one man and his dog. I want to be playing at good venues,like the Crucible and other venues of the same standard.

That seems a bit arrogant coming from a player whose game has been in the doldrums (comparing to the standard that we know he's capable of) for quite some time. Also, UK Championship, for example, is supposedly a big venue and a prestigious tournament and many games this year and last year were played "in front of one man and his dog", for whatever reason. So, obviously you can't get them all all the time.

He's not that bad, hes qualifying for tournaments but was so unlucky few times

I think that could unfortunatley be the last we see of Stephen on the TV. His game has detiriated so much over the last few years it's almost unbelievable.
