He definitely played to pot the red. Not saying he expected to pot it but he played it thinking if it didn't go in he at least had a good chance of moving it away from the pocket and not leaving it on. A bit lucky perhaps but people seem to be forgetting that the red only scored him one point and there were still 13 reds on the table. How many other players would have made a frame winning break from that position under all that pressure?

Mark was very unlucky to lose but Neil wasn't lucky to win (if that makes sense!). He won because he produced a moment of magic when it mattered most.

He didn't have any other choice, to be honest. He had the luck and took the chance very well. Funny game.

Did you see the interview with Robertson on the BBC after the match? Trying to convince us he went for the pot and position on the black! he's soooo modest. Mind you, the look on Allen's face when he saw the outcome, was priceless.

Crackin' match though, they BOTH had a 95% pot rate at one point, (9th frame I think) that's not too shabby is it. Robertson's looking pretty good atm isn't he, he'll take some beating if he keeps that form going. Just two more matches between him and retaining the trophy, that's all.

I thought before this match whoever wins has a great chance of winning the title, it was a toss of a coin in my eyes, I think Mark slightly deserved it with the way he played in the balls, and the round before as well, but that's snooker and Neil is a great competitor ; )!

Yes Pat he looked like he was trying to fool himself, he started twitching, maybe should have kept it modest!

One more game then I might have to decide what player I want on my wall lol...

Good match. I feel sorry for Allen, he didn't do anything wrong really but lost anyway. Neil was a little lucky with the starting red but then made a good break so win was deserved as far as I'm concerned. Well played to both. Best match so far.

Good stuff, close to one-visit snooker for most of the match. I had a feeling Robertson was going to make enough in that visit, he is very strong in deciders like that. Excellent pot from the snooker as well, could have cost him the frame.

Allen himself had a good chance with that red near the pocket. He should have gone for frame and match and played on a colour really.

Certainly do, quality all the way, not much 'drama' but mesmerising all the same.[/QUOTE]
