Is it an inked stamp? Can you upload a photo?

Thinking about it, I’m not sure mine had the date stamp on the cushions… may have just been the frame components, legs etc

Humm… Wonder if it’s a 2003 year? If the legs and cushions are from the same table the legs will have a proper carved looking stamp in the top of each leg, that will date the frame. It’s not unusual to have cushions from a different year than the rest of the table, but usually this would be if the original table came with wood cushions and had been upgraded to steel block. Still can’t say for sure though if it had been a world final table. If it was I would expect to see a certificate with it of some description?

Hard to tell, a friend that i trust played on it a lot, used to be in a local club in the nineties as Jimmy Long bought it after it was used in Sheffield and he placed it in that club as his practise table.
The person that has it now got it from that club when Jimmy long decided to let it go.

So it should all be the original parts still.
Anyway i will check out the legs when i get them.

someone that wants a tournament table from a championship would have to go and dismantle it themselves from the Crucible as soon as the event had finished ,and that’s never going to happen .The table that Steve was on about was the 1983 Cliff Thorburn 147 table ,3 clubs all reckon they had it but it was sold in three parts ,frame to one place cushions to another and slates to someone else .If a table is particularly good they don’t sell them ,they are reused for other events ,if they are sold then the players get first option on buying .Lots of people think they have tv tournament tables ,at best most will have a signed off table from the practice area .When Alex Higgins won the 82 championship he got the table and the WPBSA charged him for it ,it currently resides in a private club in Ireland after being tracked down sometime after Alex sold his house in Manchester ,that table had beautiful distinctive grain wood and is easerly recognised .Most tables look very similar and are hard to judge if they are what they say they are ,the B&H tables in light Oak from 84 and 85 would be easy to identify as they were one offs ,as too were the World Championship tables from the same year ,arched frames and wide chunky legs . Be nice to think those tables are still around somewhere .
