On whether to subscribe to TNT I guess it's one of those that's worth it if you also like other sports. People only interested in the snooker I can see why they'd be upset.

Anyway hope Jak Jones can beat Xintong - sick of hearing about how he's "playing under amateur status" and generally being fawned over. The guy was banned for match fixing, he shouldn't be on tour.

No he wasn't, he was banned for betting irregularities, the match fixers got far lengthier bans, one for life. John Higggins only got six months despite video evidence of him agreeing to fix matches, Stephen Lee got twelve years for match fixing (one of the said matches was against Higgins) and can't come back unless he pays his fine.
As for how Jak is doing, well he could have prepared for the match by taking a nice soft downy cushion to sit on because that's what he's been doing most of this morning. Xintong has served his time and deserves a second chance, those without sin cast the first stone.

Well apparently he's finding it blurry when viewing the balls. He's tried contacts but then the cueball appears blurry according to him so he ditched them.

Basically he's having lens replacement surgery after the WC, basically the same process as those who have a cataract. It should prolong his career for a few more years.

I know it’s probably welcomed by many, but Stephen Hendry must be one of the laziest snooker commentators out there. I love listening to him, but if you’ve ever wondered if these guys are paid by the word, he’s proof they’re not.

I think he gets the balance right to be honest. He knows when to shut up and let the players do the talking on the table which is something a lot of other commentators struggle with.

Fingers crossed for him. No doubt he’ll pick the best available surgeon and get a top of the range lens. Bewildering choice of lenses out there. It’s a fact though that no lens is as good as the one you were born with.

I've never used one of those telescopic jobs but I would assume you'd get a more solid feel with a screw in extension that was made specifically for your cue. And then there's
the old familiarity thing as well. Could be wrong though.

I don't know but a push on extension might absorb more power compared to a screw in so the players prefer a screw in for better stability and to judge the pace better. That and it might be a lucky charm thing where they feel better knowing they have their own gear if they need it rather than relying on the table equipment.

Ok PB I've got both but don't ever remember using either.
The push on feels pretty solid and stable though.
If it was me i think i'd just use the push on available, if indeed it definitely is available all the time not completely sure.

Having said that Wu Yize earlier might be wanting to bring a screw in with him now, a push on telescopic shot cost him at a key point this afternoon.

Ok MrR, screw ins would be slightly easier in transit as well i suppose, narrower.
