Yes I caught that and don't normally watched BBC news at 6. Seemed rather strange that, from what I could gather Parris is currently making him a cue but said it would be about 9 months, so not just us mere mortals who have to wait an age to get the Ultimate cue!

Parris also had a little dig that he's really not happy with the cue he's using and joked that Ronnie might bring a different cue out each session.

40 years ago Ray Reardon made it to a world final at the age of 49, but apparently the fawned over Class of 92 doing it at 49/50 is meant to be some kind of miraculous unprecedented achievement? Get lost. Let's for a Xintong v Trump final so we can get rid of these over-rated pensioners once and for all.

He isn’t. I’ve heard Parris is busy making him a new cue which I find quite amusing, given he had already made him 3 cues that had same specs and style as the one he broke. Just goes again to prove every piece of wood is different and so even with same specs each cue will play different.

so I’m guessing this new cue he’s making him, will Special magic powers added to the wood in £££££ signs. 🙄

To be fair the relationship a player has with his cue is a unique thing in snooker. If you trust a cue maker to know what you want in a cue and they've delivered for you before, I guess you trust them to do it again.

Ronnie has had a lot of cues down the years but nearly all of his major success came with Parris cues. I guess he just has more belief using his than another brand. We are all guilty of brand bias and a snooker player is no different.
