Cheers for the heads-up, sadly missed it but it's scheduled for repeat tomorrow afternoon.

Mags has a good head to head record verses trump 11-5 going by cuetracker. mags won the last encounter and trump the previous 3 before that and mags had 7 on the spin verses him prior to that. It's always an interesting match this one for me. Maguire has more of a overall game than what trump has but trump has the flair and the long game witch if he gets allowed to get going he will be hard to stop. But trump misses some easy shots sometimes. He will pot a screamer to get in and maybe a few more fantastic shots to keep the frame going then he will miss an easy shot. I have seen him do it so many times. Milkins i don't think has a chance verses robo today. He breaks down to much in the balls and robo is relentless when he gets in and gets going. Milkins is good to watch tho and his walk on music is the best

No he definitely wasn't up to his usual standard, I thought the opening frame from him was good and he played some good shots later on, like the black he potted at one point but some of his misses were most unusual. But definitely not up to his usual, but then he hasn't been the last few times he has played.
The pace of the game slowed right up in the middle, both players slowed down, I didn't specifically mean just Mark did, sorry to have made that unclear.

Just waxed down a £15 double on Milkins/Maguire double. Possible £176 return.

I am feeling the same way alba. Think I might have a wee punt on him to win, paying out 3.00 which is pretty high.

Big mags is gona prevail today i think. His confidence will be high after Lisbon and if he builds up a bit of momentum he will do well in this years masters i suspect and maybe win it. This is the game of the first round for me. Go on Maggie.

Well today was an eventful start to The Masters! I thoroughly enjoyed it, I had intended to get online for running comments but I was too absorbed in the game so will give my thoughts now.
First match between Selby and Murph started great, good opening frame from Mark and I thought he was going to walk it, but Shaun surprised me. I was rooting for Shaun, I think he needs to have more confidence in himself and his abilities as he played some fantastic shots today, did some brilliant long pots quite a lot of times. If only he had that extra little bit of faith in himself I am sure he would be much better and miss less important shots.

Mark I have to say bored me in the middle when he was playing catch up, even though he played some great shots, I got bored with the pace of the game as it slowed right up and I admit I went off into the kitchen to make a cuppa and sandwich.....whilst still having the tv on in the kitchen might I add! Just had to break it up a little to alleviate the boredom.

All in all a grat starting match. Pleased that Shaun went through in the end but I don't think he will get much further if he doesn't push himself a little harder and believe in himself more.

Second match absolutely quality play from Marco Fu, his 147 was absolutely perfect on every shot and a joy to watch, his manner as he accomplished it was just great, so cool and calm. He is one of my favourites is Fu. He was knocking in some fantastic snooker tonight and Stuart was just not able to keep up, bit of a bad day for Stuart as he wasn't playing well, cue action was not at his usual. Still, every day is different for all players I guess.

Looking forward to tomorrow's matches. Predict Trump and Robertson to win. Absolutely loved the archive footage from old matches shown on BBC in the mid session, sad to see Paul Hunter again, he was so talented! Also liked seeing the footage from before my time and obviously seeing vintage Ronnie made my day!

BBC cutting off at a crucial point just dire. Thought they'd be better than that! Do like their coverage though.
Great start to the tournament. Loved it and bring on the rest of it!

Fu came thru and is a deserving winner today.
Bingham just played very poorly which is a
    surprise.

    Tomorrow has some excellent matches.

    Day 2
    Trump vs Maguire
    Robertson vs Milkins

I pick Trump and Robertson to win.
