Never noticed how low the joint on Ken Dohertys cue is placed, the cue butt is almost as short as a short butt extension. Odd. Does he play a formerly longer shortened cue?

It was oringally a 1 piece, presumably he just got it jointed to make it a bit easier to carry in a 3/4 case.

              Hm. Interesting.
Another interesting thing I never noticed before is how much Peter Ebdon looks like a light bulp when he's done at the shot...
Nice Century by Fergal there... we don't see him very often nowadays, he's still quite a solid player...

edit: wow, another one... superb stuff from O'Brian there!

He's still a very good player!

I feel a bit sorry for Ebdon now.

That second century was brilliant. Hope somebody will load this up on youtube...

There are so many good players on the tour, not only the younger ones but the O'Briens, Hamiltons,... I kind of tend to forget about them.

The standard is getting higher in the seniors.

We probably won't see Joe Johnson, Dennis Taylor, and few others in his generation coming back next year. Morgan, Thorburn, and Davis may stick around for a few more years but the seniors will be dominated by the 90's generation soon. lol

The 90s generation shouldn't be playing! Minimum age 50 please Mr. Hearn.

Yes 50 or 55 should be the limit. How can 60+ players
compete with 40 year olds still on the tour? It makes
                        it unfair in my opinion.

Williams is the winner. He played some good snooker.

I'm happy for Mark, he was one of my favorites on tour and I miss seeing him play. It would be nice if on the ride of this title he decides to attempt a come back on tour, it's been ages.

work man mark takes 18g. he'll be happy with that for now, and it will tie him over for a bit.. i'd like to see him take china or the worlds. if he takes the worlds that will cushion his retirement blues down the road

                              Well done Mark!

Overall, I don't mind seeing the younger seniors playing at this event because they could still produce some quality snooker. No disrespect to the over 50's, but some of the matches such as the Joe Johnson vs MCPhillips one was boring.
