The BBC frustrate me sometimes, but no one does snooker better. Snooker without the BBC would be like Laurel without Hardy.

I am usually not a fan of 10-5 finals, but I have to admit I enjoyed every minute of that. Neil Robertson is a worthy champion, he played the best snooker all week, and he kept his composure brilliantly tonight in the midst of all the antics. Some of the clearances he made throughout the week were really top notch, and I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone win so many frames on pink and black in a tournament before. Anyway, nice to see him winning back-to-back titles and going back to the kind of snooker that saw him rise to the top of the game.
Liang certainly played his part as well. He was second best all match, but he managed to get the crowd on his side and got a great reaction every time he put something together. I don't remember the last time anyone got a bigger applause for a single shot than that brown to the middle when he screwed in and out of baulk. Obviously he missed too many easy pots, and it wasn't just the pressure of the final, it's something that has always been a problem in his game. He needs to cut those mistakes out and he could be a real danger in tournaments, and of course he won't always be facing an in-form O'Sullivan or Robertson as he did in the two major finals he's reached. Nice to see him getting into the Masters as well. He should have been there in 2010 when World Snooker screwed him out of a wildcard place, and I remember a lot of people at the time saying that he would eventually get there on merit anyway. Well, it's taken six years, but the injustice will now finally be corrected.
All in all, the 2015 UK Championship will be remembered as a great tournament, certainly much better than the previous few editions. Looking forward to the Masters now.

As many of us said at the time Robertson V Higgins was basically the final. - that is the way the draw goes I guess.
