Wow you guys are even more harsh on Trump than I am!

I think someone else hit the nail on the head when they said he almost had too much success too young and got a bit too cocky. As talented as he is he is NOT ROS and he the other great players that had periods dominating the game (I'm thinking Davis, Hendry, Higgins, Williams, etc), all had talent AND worked incredibly hard at their weaknesses. You can't just turn up and expect to pot your way to victory over 5 very long matches.

Moderator warning : Okay, I'm using my powers to keep the Judd topic to a minimum now.

( Judd Trump is reading all this and getting off on the attention !! )

But no, he just expected to dominate and not work on bettering and refining his game to max potential in every area. That's what real true gritty dominant world champs do see juddy boy.

If anyone seen him on 'my crucible' you'll see why he hasn't improved none. It's like he sees nothing wrong with his game and feels hes the best, so it doesnt really matter... He has very high thoughts of himself. But cant see the wood for the tree's.. Soon as someone says something about his game he says stuff like... Err, it's no worse than anyone elses.
Yes Judd, yes it is.... Lol
While most of this is true I think he has begun to turn a corner recently, I even heard him admit during the masters that due to the fact he had rose into the top 16 so suddenly and cruised through the final of the worlds he took winning for granted for a few years, but now he realises he needs to work hard at it. As a judd fan though I was very disappointed to see that he called Dominic Dale "clueless" for criticising his cue ball control because that is definitely Judd's Achilles heel and it is worrying if he doesn't realise that.

I disagree that he is "just an exhibition player" though. Tony Drago is an example of someone who is just an exhibition player. Judd is a player who does actually go out there and win on a regular basis and he is only going to get better as he approaches his 30s.

Eh? He has won quite a few tournaments in recent years and he is one of the best players around, even beating Ronnie in the final of the grand prix last year, not exactly anything to sniff at. He also has a relatively good record at the worlds. He may not be the most consistent but in what world is it ridiculous to think he has a chance of winning the tournament? I would be more surprised at ding winning when you consider his crucible record.

I would also say that Judd is sort of trying to be the next Alex, Jimmy or Ronnie.

Poor Trumpy getting a bashing in here haha.

I think it would help Judd but not sure if he's mentally or intellectually capable of applying concepts to his life and snooker. He has tremendous ability on the Snooker table but he lacks composure in pressure situations. He's shown glimpses of it but few and far between.

Yesterday's second session both Ding and Trump were playing very average snooker and Trump loses the plot and starts thumping balls all because Ding had a run of the balls and he himself frustrated because he couldn't up his game. Trump does have more than his fair share of luck/run of balls, you don't see other top players loosing their composure and smashing balls!

It's a shame really, if he tighten up his game and technique and he can be a multiple World champion.

Trumps problem is he thinks that he just has to turn up and he will win, he believes that he is much better than everyone else and because of this when he is losing to a so called lesser player in his mind he gets agitated frustrated even embarrassed and can't handle it.

plus the fact that the BBC keeping ramming down our throats how amazing he is and the naughty snooker bull**** they keep talking about. maybe he is believing all this hype.

he's been around now for a while and everyone keeps saying he should have won the world title by now. no one has a divine right to win the world championship. it takes more than snooker skill to win it. the mental side is huge so until Trump gets it right in his head i'm afraid he isn't going to win it.
