And one robin doesn't make a winter. We all know Selby is on his B-game atm so getting this far is an achievement in itself. How often do we hear players criticised for not being able to cope when they're not on top form, which of course happens to everyone.
World No. 1 and 5th in the century list with 417, very difficult to get there by just constantly rolling up to the yellow.

Interesting to note that we've got No. 5(Selby), 6(Ding), and 7(Fu) top century break makers in this semi. I was quite surprised to see Fu there with 394.

That's better, nice break from Fu to level the score again. Selby has responded each time Fu's come back at him so far, but we are approaching the business end of the match now, so the pressure will increase. :smile:

I'm not saying it "justifies" anything, whatever what means, I just thought it was funny timing. It was short-lived though, as you say. Apart from that frame, this session has been one big scrap, completely different to the Ding-McManus match. I definitely think Selby would have been knocked out by now, if he was in a different quarter of the draw. :smile:

Marco needed that frame , looked like Selby was going to run away with this session.

Saw a lot of movement from Selby when he missed the red to the middle in that frame .

Can't tell you how glad I was when Selby did not fluke the blue and Marco pinched it. Was afraid Selby will pull away. Both look very edgy.

I think a lot of people prefer and remember quality safety battles like Selby vs Baird to century's.
With lots of century's
1.There's a lot of dead frame time once the opponent needs too many snookers.
2.Unless the player in break is going for a max or a tournament high break - unless its pots of the lampshades and superb positioning whats the big deal.
3.The oft inevitable cry rightly or wrongly that the pockets are too generous.
