I never thought I would find myself saying this.... The Trump Ding match is a little dull...

Extremely unlucky double kiss on yellow for Allen, now the match is sealed. Did not expect this result to be honest.

And Ding/Trump match is pretty scrappy, their average frame time for tonight is 25 mnutes+.

Are they not? Well there you go I don't really take much notice lol. For me Murphy is a bigger banger than Trump.
Although not counting tonight lol, they have both lost the plot.

I would not say Murphy and Selby are the same generation as Trump
also I don't think Murphy and Selby hit overly hard as Trump does ...
    imho

Get the feeling there is some bad blood between these two! Unusual to see Trump refuse the concession there, but then why is Ding carrying on needing 5 snookers?

It's so hard to bet against Trump even when he's playing poorly because he can easily go on a 4-5 frame winning run no problem. The fact that Ding is playing poorly as well helps him too.

You very rarely see the other top players absolutely bash the balls into the pockets like Trump does.
He's always said he doesn't need a coach so he's never had one, but his game is in basically the same place as it was 5 years ago vs Higgins. He knows all the shots, but perhaps he needs a Griffiths or a Reardon figure to suggest a few strategies to him, as Reardon did with O'Sullivan's safety game.

I like tense frames but this is just scrappy and its two players struggling and the conditions are causing the struggle.

What we are seeing now is a table that is too slow, noticeably they are having to strike the balls harder and are losing accuracy because of it. Look at the difference in scoring on table 1 compared to this and you can see why.

His cue actions drives me nuts (he has very weird pause just before delivering the cue) so it does not seem 'smooth' as for the other players, and too me, he only plays safety with no creativity from what I have seen .... maybe I am biased, he is playing pretty well for sure, I have not liked his style from the start, I think I first saw him last WSC.

Allen has been pretty unlucky, the foul was barely noticable, I can't see him turning this match around now, hopefully, the next Mark will be too strong for Wilson :-)

I feel like whoever comes through the half playing on table 2 is going to really struggle with their game once they get down to the one table setup. With the constant changing of cushions and the speed of the table, its got to affect their game and its no wonder we are seeing so many scrappy frames and struggles. Only Higgins has shown any kind of good form on this side of the arena. It really is a joke the conditions this year and its made the tournament pretty unwatchable for me to see so many of the top players being made to look average.
