Just listen to the cheer for Ding when he accepts his runner-up cheque, compared to the one for Selby when he takes the trophy. That's all I'm saying. Very unpopular winner, and for good reason.
A lot of the reasons are nonsense though, looking up to the crowd (it's the same spot virtually every time to his friends/wife but we'll ignore that I guess) - is that some criminal offence or something?

He may be dull if you're watching snooker just for balls going in pockets but there is A LOT more to the game then that and always will be. You shouldn't even watch snooker if you can't appreciate how Selby utilises his own game to beat two of the greatest break builders the game has seen in O'Sullivan and Ding.

I think you might be mistaken here Billy, half his friends are in the crowd after all.

I had a dream that Spurs won the PL the other day and spent the whole weekend thinking it was true. Didn't occur to me that I dreamt it because I don't give a toss about football.

Selby has won 2 or 3(can't remember) and 1, looking like two, world championships yet people think he is just lucky!

By the way the game is called snooker... clue is in the title... it's not all about pretty flowing balls going into pockets, it is a game largely based around tactical safety and... snookers.

I'm resignned now. One comfort is that Ding will get the louder and warmer reception as runner-up, than Selby as winner.

I would have loved to see Ding lift the trophy because he's such a great guy and totally genuine but Selby is genuine too and deserves this. He's not the fastest player in the game but then not everyone can play like Ronnie. Mark Selby has always been known as a tough cookie and he's shown it here. His accuracy in laying snookers has been nothing short of poetry.
