Good start from Anthony, especially after the incident with Fu who was utterly out of line pointing his long stick at McGill

Marco will be the happier of the 2 after the 2nd session , looked at one point like McGill was going to run away with it .

The guy looked burnt out to me. Perhaps the qualifiers coupled with the two Crucible matches are catching up with him although I hope not

Well, he'd better, because I stuck my neck out last week and predicted that he'd win the tournament .... (no worries though, I haven't bet any of my hard-earned cash on it ....)

Selby definitely not match-fit...missing far too many relatively easy ones, and is missing his usual rhythm. Not susprising with the lack of tournament 'practice' due to personal reasons. Still curious to find out what those are exactly, maybe he will open up on it in the (near) future. Still hoping he will come through in this match and will pick up some form for the next round(s)...

Carter was just setting himself, he wasn't going to play the shot, that's why he told the ref to wait a minute.

If he was settling himself then he must have already chosen the colour and should have shared this with the ref. And it makes more sense to nominate before you're setled than after, surely.

Murmured indeed...hence I think why Neal Foulds said as well Ali should nominate instead of the ref...or at least be more forthcoming with nominating color.

The ref asked, he said wait a minute, then nominated the green, I think he said same shot on the next attempt or something, murmured.
