Marco and Murphy are just plain wrong. Any sort of shot clock in snooker is ridiculous. The problem lies with gutless referees not dealing with deliberate and uncalled for slow play. As mentioned, it's only ever a few players who do this. The same is true of the miss rule. If the referees used some common sense and bottle, the rule would work much better than the disproportionate reward system it presently is.

Shame Michael couldn't make it to 7 it would have set it up nicely for the final session. Mind you I wouldn't be surprised if there was another twist in this one. Really enjoyed it so far.

Hard to see any way back for Holt. He really blew it in the morning session by not taking advantage of an out of sorts Williams. Did anyone else notice the safety success of 92% for Williams there? So even though he isn't scoring well he still isn't giving Holt a chance to get in and play really.

In any case, Michael should really get the last frame of this session, oherwise I see no way back for him.

I think Mark is quite smart really... always trying to have a laugh and a joke but at the same time trying as hard as possible to beat his opponent. I think it is clearly affecting Michael at the moment.... that and the fact that he should have won the morning session 6-2 and now he finds himself at least 9-7 behind.

Absolute must win frame for Holt.

I think these scrappy frames really suit Mark more than Michael. If it were fast flowing play I think Michael would have the edge in break building these days.

Ebdon seemed to like that break of 1 by Holt.

    Blimey, calm down, Peter!

And yes he does chat too much, just like Davis when he's in the CB.

Yep.... it is nice that he makes positive comments rather than the usual negative criticism from Virgo....... but he needs to just talk less. Not every shot requires commentary.

I think that is a very good description indeed.

Shame he couldn't keep it up tonight (no pun intended ) against an out-of-sorts Fu...he had a good chance there to progress to the next round.

The MJW - Holt match is kinda scrappy atm...and watching snooker without any commentary is very dull indeed

Furthermore...Eurosport is seriously coming up short this year. Not sure why, but there must be a reason. Last years they covered the WC from the very first day all the way to the last day, and most days even on 2 channels at the same time! This year...almost no coverage. And since the Beeb has gone AWOL since oh say the past 4-5 years now, Eurosport was my go-to station for snooker. Dammit!

    *rant over*
