This is completely untrue. Rod Lawlor is suited for this format??????

Neal Foulds said that Bingham was the favourite. What the hell happened?
I think the way to view this tournament is more like poker than snooker.

In the same way that you could have a full house and get outdrawn on the river (in Holdem), you can be the superior player but lose out due to a slight roll.

Just don't really care what anyone does, says or thinks... I care what I think, that's what matters. Life is reactionary... That's what we get to choose.

It's a marketing exercise... If 10 percent of these muppets have a good time in the crowd, they'll likely buy tickets for a proper event
Oh, so about 80 then .... Well, one has to start somewhere ....

      • Of course it does

Is Unnooh's tip loose? Sounds awfully tinny when he strikes the white.

        • Un-Nooh looks like the favourite.

That's a very good analogy. Over a small sample size there is a huge amount of luck in poker, but once you play thousands of hands the better players will come out ahead.

I just wish the commentators would admit that it's a fun crapshoot instead of analyzing and trying to explain why player A beat player B and why player C should beat player D. Foulds and McManus should now better and are just embarrassing themselves.

Me too. Foulds would be apoplectic.

This is either comedy gold or you, kind sir, have reading comprehension issues.

                    • Has the public been told what to do? "Instructing the crowd" has a long history in the TV business and some guys surely have an interest in commercialising this "shootout"... Maybe there is a guy with a colourful hat standing behind the cameras who "calls the chants" ?

                      • I'm watching a Eurosport feed without commercials and the announcer does try to rile the crowd up between matches. He tells them to yell and get louder.

                        • He needs to tell some of the women in the crowd to wash... Absolute set of munters!

                          • Possibly but I have heard shouts of "yellow" when a player is playing for a red, I have heard "Ronnie" loads of times and all sorts of other nonsense.
I think they are probably hyping up the crowd in the ad breaks etc.

                            • If Jamie Clark wins the event, I'd have to say that would make me happy.

They have a lot of time to fill :-) :-) :-)
