I thought Hendry played terrifically a few years ago in the World Championship and thought he had a chance that year, but unfortunately he came up against Ronnie in the semi playing his 'A' game and got absolutely crucified. I believed then; that Ronnie had seen Hendry play excellently in the quarters and figured he'd have to play very well to win, and consequently was mentally prepared to play exceptionally well.
Unfortunately for Stephen his strength, when he was at the top of his game, was long potting and single visit break building, usually combining the two to devastating effect. As you get older, however, your long potting deteriorates and your concentration wanes. His tactical matchplay never matched Davis' and though I wouldn't rule him out should he get a great draw I sadly don't think he'll win any tournament again but has even less chance in the World.
