Hendry will never again last 15 days to make the final at the Crucible and also be clearly the man over a 2 day best of 35 frames final on top. That goes for any other 40 year old or over as well.

For all those people saying you have to have a great technique to be a great coach...

Joe Swail just got his coaching certificate from Del Hill

Hendrys problam is in his cuing yes you could say thats in his head but every shot he plays he cues across it to some degree but on pressure shots he goes right across it thats why he misses balls unexpectedly. it doesent need to be that difficult shots at one point he would have played blindfolded...its more technique rather than in his head.

I agree. Also lacking a proper match practice doesn't do any good for him. I wonder if took Higgins' offer after Grand Prix to have practice games with other the top guys.

On topic I think he's got a chance to win another tournament, not the Worlds perhaps but a tournament. But he should take it by the horn and sort out the technical flaws and have proper match practice.

Ok, let's put it this way, yeah you're the top coach of cue sports in the world, you totally rule...and what!? Then you come on the snooker forum where people talk and chat about snooker and you get all cocky and start talking highly of yourself and how you can make the greatest snooker player in the history start winning tournaments again etc... sorry mate but you have to see that no one here can take you for serious, especialy me! Do you get my point? If you're THE MAN why do you need all that cheap talk and free commercial for yourself!? Pathetic!

I think it's possible, too. But the main problem is, players like Ronnie O'Sullivan or John Higgins won't let it go especially if they're playing someone like him..Interestingly, only Dale won that final, the others all lost to Ronnie, Ronnie and Ali, who are ranked ahead of Stephen.

So, it's never impossible, but he needs some consistency, which he doesn't have right now..The only possible way to win a tournament with his current level is a) face Ryan Day in the final, b) face Jamie Cope in the final, c) face Liang Wenbo in the final.. I especially selected these, as they've been there in the last few years, but not with a great consistency, which makes them beatable..
                  All the way Mark J!!

Hendry would have a good chance v a Day, a Cope or a Wembo in a ranking final if they met, but I would not say with any confidence that he would beat them definitely for sure. Yes he "can" win, but not "would" win or "will" win.

But realistically it would only be just one more time at the most the rest of his career he can win a ranking tournament from now on in, and be in one of the other ranking tournament, just not at the Crucible.

Hendry lasting 13 to 15 days at the Crucilble to make the final, then being clearly the man in the 2 day best of 35 final as well is a definite no no.

don't forget it took a flying Ronnie in 2008 and Shaun Murphy playing extremely well to narrowly beat him in 2009 so although its unlikely, at the crucible Hendry is always a danger.

I think there is a lot of crap spoken about 40+ players been over the hill. I've just come back to the game after been out for 20 years. I've been playing now for just under three years and I'm knocking in regular breaks of 70+. There is nothing stopping hendry or any other 40+ pro competing and winning. It just comes down to fittness, work rate and desire to win. I'll eat my cue if is does not happen. I wonder how much time and effort you would put in to your game after winning every thing, millions in the bank and a young family.

thats the thing people take the fact hendry went off the boil with the emergence of Ronnie,Higgins and Williams etc but the truth was snooker for the first time in his life wasent important late 90s when he married in 1995 and his first son was born in 1996.

He took his eye off the ball for persanal reasons and people tend to forget in 1996 Snooker had been Stephens life for 15 years it was a time to be a family man but people use that as a stick to beat him down with.

Phil Taylor in darts, much is said on Sky about his bringing up his family and his family life, and you see them constantly flash to the audience to see his kids every time he's in action, yet that hasn't stopped him remaining invincible for the most part producing constant regular 100+ averages in the process.

Phil was married with kids long before he hit the heights so he had lived a life before darts hendry has never lived a life outside snooker.

I think he could win another title, but I doubt he will win another world championship, as he doesn´t seem to be playing consistent for long enough time now.
