Without a doubt... in all human endeavour, especially those requiring exacting neuro/muscular and perceptual development, excellence can be grown.
As JoeNut warns, maintaining a kid's interest and attention is essential.
I hope we'll be seeing Lee's kid in the WC within ... maybe... 15 years.

There was scottish kid living in Crewe called Shane Cavanagh who knocked a break of 102 in a local comp when he was 9, his dad swears blind and has witnesses that shane also knocked in a 147 before he was 10!!!

Allegedly the Guinnes book of records was contacted but would not recognise the break as due to shane being so short he had to stand on a beer crate to play several shots.

I started this thread nearly 14 years ago. It was a feat that I never thought I'd see again.

Well.... today, William Thomson, aged eight years and two months, made a 52 on Day 21 of the Rotary Summer Cup at Chandlers Ford Snooker Club.

That is something. My 10 year old is building a solid technique but is a long way off a 50 break.
