this works a treat, I use one of these to do it, find it easier because it's less fiddly than just a blade.

I use a "tip-sharpener" like you do, easily removes the bulk of the over-sized tip without giving vertical edges to remove. But I find the sharpener leaves a very small overhang.
The I use the "TW-method" with new Stanley blade to remove this, then sandpaper.
I usually have masking tape on the ferrule to stop scratches etc.
Never used wax on the sides
          Up the TSF! :snooker:

                Hi jrc750,

It is a 11mm tip to a 9.5mm ferrule. And I Pressed the tip before install so it does get abit bigger at dia As the base of the tip is bigger it's easier to tip onto the ferrule

                Hi Shockerz,

                Yes sir, it's clear wax
I've learnt the milk dud method from your web Tried the tip on my cue and I like it

If you can find the right time to leave it and can replicate the same pressure from the press then it can certainly churn out some nice, grippy tips with good feel.

                  Glad you liked the article.

Looks great . I saw you mentioned using Shoe wax ?

This picture was my cue ( also Laminated shaft ) , here i used Car wax to clean the ferrule .
Next time , i'm gonna give shoe wax a try .
Yours looks much better tbh .
                    great job .

                      Hi Ramon,

That's a good and neat installation too. Just need some touch up on the dome
Anyway it's just cosmetic issue. Priority is the skill.. Sad to say I'm confident for tip installation but my snooker skill sucks.. Haha..

when i put a over sized tip on i put the cue upside down and use a stanley knife to trim away the tip then i use a tip trimmer to tidy it up but when using the stanley knife DON'T touch the wood shaft.
